OUR

The story of La Parisienne begins in a completely unexpected way. When we moved to Sonvilier, it wasn't with the intention of opening a bakery, but to be closer to Neuchâtel, where 20-year-old Mélodie was pursuing her studies in medical biology. David, 27, on the other hand, was looking for work as a baker.
While chatting with the owner of our future home, David asked her if there were any opportunities for a baker in the village. She then jokingly told us about a bakery that had been closed for six months. She didn't think it would go any further, especially since the landlord wasn't keen on renting it out again.
But David saw this situation as an opportunity. With great determination, we contacted the owner, shared our vision, and managed to convince him to trust us. And so, on October 15, 2024, La Parisienne was born, driven by a blend of audacity, passion, and a desire to breathe new life into this iconic village landmark.

Why the name
The Parisian woman?
The choice of the name La Parisienne is a tribute to David's Parisian teachers, who instilled in him their passion for baking when he was studying in Perpignan. These French master bakers left their mark on his journey, not only through their expertise, but also through their love of the craft.
With this name, we also wanted to evoke the elegance and excellence of French tradition, while blending it with the conviviality and authenticity of our village of Sonvilier.
A place that belongs to you
La Parisienne is much more than a bakery: it's a place for sharing and conviviality. We've set up an anonymous suggestion box, and thanks to your ideas, we've added products like black bread, canapés, and even a coffee service.
We firmly believe that the villagers are the ones who keep the bakery alive and growing. Your support, your ideas, and your loyalty are at the heart of our adventure, and we thank you for it.
