La Parisienne

OUR
History
The story of La Parisienne begins in a completely unexpected way. When we moved to Sonvilier, it wasn't with the intention of opening a bakery, but to be closer to Neuchâtel, where Mélodie, 20, was pursuing her studies in medical biology. David, 27, was looking for work as a baker.
While talking with the owner of our future home, David asked her if there were any opportunities for a bakery in the village. It was then that she humorously told us about a bakery that had been closed for six months. She didn't think it would go any further, especially since the owner of the premises wasn't enthusiastic about the idea of re-renting it.
But David saw this situation as an opportunity. With great determination, we contacted the owner, shared our vision, and managed to convince him to trust us. Thus, on October 15, 2024, La Parisienne was born, driven by a mix of audacity, passion, and a desire to revive this iconic village landmark.
Our
Values
At La Parisienne, we are guided by clear principles that define our daily work:
• Artisanal authenticity: We use traditional methods and do everything by hand, from dough to baking, without improvers or chemicals.
• Quality above all: All our ingredients are carefully selected for their natural composition and impeccable quality.
• Listening and proximity: Our customers and the village residents are at the heart of our bakery. We adapt our products according to your needs and ideas.

Our Specialties
We are proud to offer products that reflect our commitment to craftsmanship and tradition:
• Our sourdough breads, carefully prepared, which combine taste and natural preservation.
• Our croissants and pastries, made with homemade puff pastry.
• Our special breads, such as black bread, which were born directly from the suggestions of locals.

Why the name
The Parisian?
The choice of the name La Parisienne is a tribute to David's teachers, who instilled in him their passion for baking while he was studying in Perpignan. These French master bakers influenced his career not only with their expertise, but also with their love of the craft.
With this name, we also wanted to evoke the elegance and excellence of French tradition, while blending it with the conviviality and authenticity of our village of Sonvilier.
A place that belongs to you
La Parisienne is much more than a bakery: it's a place for sharing and conviviality. We've set up an anonymous suggestion box, and thanks to your ideas, we've added products like black bread, canapés, and even a coffee service.
We firmly believe that the villagers are the ones who keep the bakery alive and growing. Your support, your ideas, and your loyalty are at the heart of our adventure, and we thank you for it.
A local commitment
